any of y'all know a good source for the CAT branded portable gens? RP5500
I found the IPL on CATs website, but not really many good places to purchase items.
From what i gather the engine is a RATO 300V
 
This is a private label build with the CAT paint and labels on it. RATO engines mostly show to be European built, but like a contact Chinese clone engine like many others.
 
Give the following model a look at.
DR Power R300
At least the recoil appears to be the same and not a "D" shaped one.

Also if you need the R300V maintenance manual I do have a copy that I could PM a link to.

Just note there a few versions of the R300. I know there is at a "S" series too.
 
Looks like getting engine related stuff shouldn't be too hard, now i need a short cable for the choke, this looks like the fun search
CAT 511-8036 and
CAT 511-8853 which is a fuel fitting, it looks like a honda type fitting, i need to pull it out and can probably match it up.

Sounds about right due to the head nut and his pissing off other countries with his tariffs.

But I the choke is something that Cat did before they quit selling low end generators if what I found is correct.
 
Im driving about 30 minutes up to Huntsville tomorrow to pick up some good parts, I'm getting the whole control panel with the choke cable .. and anything else I can get . Good ol Facebook marketplace.
