Any thing about the manufacturer would be helpfull
 
Looks like a Sears Craftsman part number (?) and the LT1000 would be a fairly light duty rider, LT= lawn tractor as compared to a GT, garden tractor.

I have a craftsman lt1000 and a gt5000.. both have a 36" deck one has a briggs 17hp (1000) and the other (5000) has an 18.5 kohler, the GT1000 has a manual 6 speed forward 1 speed reverse tranny, the gt5000 has a hydrolic tranny. The 1000 has a 1 gallon maybe 1.5 gallon gas tank the 5000 has a 2.5-3 gallon tank..

Both seem to go about the same top speed and both cut the same as they have identicle decks, i've switched them back and fourth so many times I don't know which was which but bioth use the same pulleys, idlers, blades and belt..

I prefer the 5000 only because it is a smoother riding machine because of the hydro tranny, but the pulling power of the lt1000 seems to be a little bit stronger, I can tow my xterra up a slight incline with the 5000 but can not pull my 95 gmc yukon up the same driveway where the lt1000 can... But that might be a sign of old age on the hydrostatic seeing that the gt5000 also has 1.5 more HP..

Oh and the elctrical system is about 5 amps more powerfull on the gt5000 then lt1000...

Hopefully that comparison helps out...

Well i thank you for the feed back but fairly light duty because LT =lawn tractor compared to GT=garden tractor is a stretch now would you know who makes these canadian models for sears canada ?
