You guys must have more luck than me.
If i can get something for free it is not worth having.
But then i don't give anything away either or it has got to be something worthless

I love that people just do not know how easy mowers are to fix.
And the best part is the repair shops want $50 to tell them what's wrong with it.
I could get 5 to 10 free or very cheap mowers a day here. The Facebook groups are full of people just wanting some one to get them out of their yard

Last free thing I received was from a relative and it's because it wouldn't self propel. Ended up it lost the rubber friction ring out of the friction wheel and chewed up the flat drive plate along with skids that were worn through. I needed to put $170 in parts for a 5 horse 24 inch snow blower I could have bought off craigslist for 100-150 !!! And I still haven't fixed the China engine that surges even after I cleaned the carb. If you had to pay someone to do the repairs you might as well pull it apart and try to make some money off the parts as it would be way more than the machine is worth.
I added a light and built some drift breakers for it and it's done a good job this winter.

Sometimes there's nothing more expensive than free !!

People here don't know how to maintain equipment and when they leave gas in it all fall winter and spring they expect it to start and run in the summer with the same gas. When it doesn't it ends up on Craigslist for cheap or free. My phone let's me know when someone posts a mower for free or under 50

I don't get much off of Craigslist here. To many guys that scrap for a living if that's what you want to call it.

Facebook groups is where it's at. I got people that tag me every time they see a mower.

Maybe I am getting soft as I get older but the past few months I have gone to pick up a free mower and just fix it right there and let them keep it.

Heck one guy was wanting to give someone $50 to remove a toro time cutter from his yard. I took the mower and gave him $50. Throttle cable was broke.

Ya I've done that a few times :) I don't do it for a living its merely a hobby but I do make a bit of cash doing it :) I've got 3 for sale right now 100$ a piece prolly get 75 each making about 60 profit on each mower and I don't found time and labor because its a hobby :)

The way I look at it is it's a fun hobby and it does not cost me any money.
