Greetings from Kentucky. Okay, I thought I would repair my 16hp Briggs that I took off in the spring. It's a model 310707 type 0137-e1. I took the cam out today and the compression release is fine on it. According to the manual the lobe specs is 1.240" on a good lobe and 1.234" is a reject. I don't claim to be the best at using a micrometer, but my lobes both measured fine. I may get a digital micrometer and measure again.
When I removed the engine, it was blowing through the carb and cranking hard. I had replaced the head gasket. I had adjusted on the valves for two days to try to get it to run. Any thoughts if the cam is bad, maybe I measured wrong? :confused2:
