Buck horn.

Haven't mowed for two weeks due to the drought here.
But yesterday loaded uo and headed to the big lawn i do. Lots of buck horn growing and going to seed.



Newly sharpened blade just was not getting it all. slowed speed by half and was getting most of it down.
Any one else dealing with that stuff?

Also the chicory was doing well.

This is a remote area of the yard so was told they do not want to spend money for controll products.

Long stems fold over from front of deck.. Common problem. My ferris does that too.

should pop back up and then the blades lift should pull them up even more.

I know this is a stupid question but did you put the blade on right?

Ya the blades were on right.
I was mowing at 4.25 inches too since it is so dry.

Just had to ask. I see so many mowers with upside down it isn't funny anymore.

Yup, if it wasn't for the buckhorn there wouldn't be anything green in my sunny backyard right now. Sharp high lift blades and slow ground speeds is about the only thing I can do to cut them. There are occasional survivors...
