Broken bar bolt-how to remove without breaking casting

McCulloch 130.
Bolt that holds bar on is broken. I removed front of saw and removed gas tank to access it. The bolt will not come out. Apparently there are knurls on bolt to make to fit tight. How do I remove the bolt without breaking the casting. I do not think a hammer is a safe way to break it loose.

The are a square headed bolt with ridges like a wheel stud. they are pressed in and can be knocked out Here is a picture of what it looks like.

I know that but my problem is that I am afraid to hit the bolt to hard for gear of breaking the casting that it is going through. I tapped on it but it did not budge.

Support the back of the housing with a washer, (large enough for the square head to clear thru the washer. ) Then put a socket over the washer and using a vise press that bolt out.
