Briggs Vtwin backfiring constantly

I put my money on that cheap carb. Not money well spent and often a mis match part with incorrect jetting.

Check engine oil level on dipstick, does it smell of gasoline or overfull? Install 2 new B&S 491055 spark plugs with gap set to 0.030.

What about a compression check? Did I miss that in earlier posts?

Have a Briggs VTwin 23hp. Was getting good compression on #1 cyl., O on #2.

Exhaust valve's head on #2 cyl. "warped". When seated one could throw a small cat thru the crack.
