Briggs V Twin compression release

B&S 445577 type 0435 .Having trouble starting.Sounds like compression release not working.I adjusted valves to specs and that didn't work.It also has new starter.What type of comp release does this engine have if any at all.thanks
 
If the comp release isn't working it will be very hard to turn over giving the impression that there is too much compression so to speak, in this case taking into mind that you have done correct valve adjustments, I believe the comp release spring on the little comp release mechanism itself (on the cam) would have damaged, that would mean a new cam really
 
You need a workshop manual really, if I remember when I'm back in the workshop tomorrow il copy the page you require for valve adjustment
