I received a rider for free and i have been trying to get the engine running and I can't get it to fire. I have torn the carb down, cleaned it and reassembled it with the overhaul kit. I bought and installed new spark plugs and coil pack and checked for spark which is present. i cleaned out the gas tank of old gas and put in fresh gas and when i turn the motor over I have no sign it wants to try and fire. i checked for compression( i dont have a gauge used my thumb) and I have compression. I poured gas into the cylinder and tried to start it and nothing so i thought it was possibly valves or timing. I removed the valve cover and they are operating. I am at a loss any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Sounds like a sheared flywheel key...maybe.
