I don't recall B&S making an 11HP twin cylinder engine. I'm still wondering how a "16HP carburetor" was mounted to this. The original description is a little confusing. The number on the engine cover are likely not correct. AKA Frankenstein build.
If this forum would let me post pictures I'd show my frankenstein engine to you. I click the paper clip and it shows me pictures that I've posted in the past. To attach the carb I used a 90* elbow. I had to rotate the carb 90*. To do that I took a piece of 1/2 inch steel and mounted it to the elbow then made 2 more holes in that piece of steel to mount the carb. I made a throttle link out of a coat hanger. It's probably close to a foot long. The governor spring is at the bottom.

Thanks for the reply, sounds like some creative engineering for sure. I did a lot of crazy modification like that when I was younger and had more time to experiment. My younger brother and I were into "modifying" go kart engines for racing (in the mid 70's) before it ever became a sport.

Garden tractor pulls and racing was also a popular weekend sport back then.

It lets us all post pics. If yours are too large, resize for free in Windoze 11 Photos app thingy.
