I still see every once in a while usually at an estate sale and older walkbehind mower with the older Briggs and Stratton engines (model 6BH) with 2 styles of carbuerators. One type with the gasoline tank to the left side of the engine with attached fuel line and another style with the gasoline tank mounted to the bottom of the carburator. What type of carbuerator assembly worked the best on the older engines?

Thanks,

I have found that the carburetor with the gas tank on the bottom when the old gas is left in it you only have to change the pickup screen and clean the tank to get it going again as to the other style you have to disassemble the carburetor and soak in cleaner, clean the tank, replace filter, and replace fuel lines. Other then that they are both good units.
