The engine runs a little ruff and I hear a pinging noice. The Engine blows smoke and oil out the dip stick, does this mean I need to redo piston rings?

I would not use the engine until you have a good look at it, oil coming out of dip stick is back pressure, so well could be the rings, give it a compression test that will tell you a lot.

Could also be a blown head gasket.

Thanks. I did a compression test and looking at engine left side went to 180, the right side was 0. So I'm assuming the rings? Thanks again.

I would look at the head gasket and valves first. Cheaper and easier to repair.

Do the above, if its 0.psi it may well be the head gasket or valve(s) and not the ring's.

I pulled head off and piston was broke pulled off bottom of crank case and rod was broke also. Thanks for the help.
