This is a county line trimmer with a Briggs 675e series engine. I am still working on getting it running, as it will fire but not stay running. I have put a new fuel filter, bulb, and carb on it and have been careful with the gaskets, new plug and obviously have spark. It you look at the pics, does the spring look right? Because if I move the throttle control on from “turtle to rabbit” I don’t see a drastic change or movement. I also don’t see a second spring like an air vane spring but maybe there is not one on a trimmer like this. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

No air vane spring because there is no air vane. This engines uses a mechanical governor not air vane governor. And you won't see much movement in the carb throttle by moving the throttle from fast to slow without the engine running. Spring will hold the throttle open without counteracting force from the governor.
Appreciate the fast reply! Aok sounds like I move on to look at different things that could be the issue. Still feels like a fuel issue to me but with new gas and everything in line being new I am not sure why it fires and then won’t stay running. Like i said there isn’t any fuel leak like bad gaskets or anything. Head scratcher
I would take a needle nose pliers and bend the metal your finger is on in the first photo. Bend it approximately an 1/8” out to expand the spring, putting more tension on the governor. Start the engine with the control ar high speed and see if there is any change. Report back.
You saying bend this metal up a bit to creat more tension? Just want to be sure. Thanks!
