Hi,my husqvarna 18542 with tufftorq k46 is 3 years old, and of a sudden the brake won't hold. I didn't get a manual for this unit, and can't determine if I can adjust the brake to hold or can replace pads or ? How does the brake work and where is it located?
Tuff Torq K46 uses a wet brake system, There is not an adjustment. Replacing the brake pad is a major that beyond most DYIers and some regular techs. IE the transaxle must be removed, oil drained, and the unit disassembly in order to get to the brake pad.
Thanks, Star, for the info. Can you explain what adjustment techniques you use, or prefer not to? Is there anyone that has an adjustment trick that works in this dilemma, without causing consecutive problems?
