This concerns a 2014 Turf Tiger with watercooled Kawasaki DFI engine.
If I am mowing right to left across the face of a moderate slope and turn up hill for a few feet and the back up to resume my original direction of travel the brake lever jumps up and hits me under my left leg. As soon as I resume going forward across the slope the lever returns to the normal down position.
Took it to the Scag dealer and he did not find anything wrong. I have a friend that has an older air cooled TT that occasionally does the same thing.
I have had three of these same machines and this one is the only one that does it.
I understand that the problem could be an adjustment issue but I don't understand why it only happens in situations like I described in my original post. Going the other way or turning the other way does not make the e-brake lever jump up and hit your leg. If you are day dreaming, it is easy to imagine for an instant that a snake has hit you. That's what it feels like.
I would jack up the machine, set the rear on blocks, remove the rear wheels, inspect the wheel motor mounting bolts and the brake system. While there I would readjust the brakes per the manual, reinstall the rear wheels and torque the nuts to specs.
