Blower starter part broken.. need help

Have an old Troy Bilt tb25bp. The starter assembly has 2 springs. The common recoil spring and them a 2nd spring that’s wider and thicker. It’s this 2nd thicker one that broke and I can’t find anything about where to get one. Anybody have a suggestion? Thanks!
 
Two things going against you on this one. First MTD didn't offer the individual parts for the starter, and the second is it was made by McCulloch for MTD which has discontinued all their parts.
 
I understand. But I am hoping other manufacturers have used this same design and I could find a similar piece and make it work. I don’t even know what that spring is called.
