blade speed

Lately I have noticed that when I engage blades, the engine wants to die. It will finally pick up and run, but when I hit thick grass the blades slow down. Any ideas.

Is a mulch kit, or clipping containment system involved?

No. I have noticed for a while the blade speed was up and down. However yesterday is the first time the engine actually sputtered while engaging the blades. Also while trying to go up a hill yesterday, the mower sputtered. I'm thinking it could be a governor problem.

Have you cleaned out from under the deck lately?

Yeah, I clean under the deck after every mowing.

This is seeming to be a fuel delivery issue, like solenoid or a guvnah issue.
