Repairs blade speed higher when turning

have trouble with my DC maintaining high or proper blade speed. Even is grass is not high it loses blade speed....but when/if i turn either direction the seed picks up immediately.
 
+1 on checking the belt tension. If your motor rpm's aren't dropping while this occurs, it would be a sign of needing to tighten the belt.
