Bag-N-Wagon

Hello Snapper fans!

Did the Bag-N-Wagon have a limited distribution before it was discontinued? I've been using Snappers for about 13 years and have never seen one in person, only in brochures. I have a large flat area where one would be useful, but I'd mainly just like to have one in my collection as a novelty really. I approached the only two dealers in my area and only one of them remembered selling one in the mid 90's. He did say that they were extremely expensive when they were new, around $900.

The dealer also mentioned that the mowers at that time were underpowered when it came to blowing the grass up the tube, even with the wings attached to the blade. The Snapper I own now is 17.5 hp so I think it would be plenty powerful enough to work with one.

Thanks,
Matthew

Good luck! I have several acres ,6 snapper mowers and I would love to have one for fall cleanup. I've been looking for over 4 years. Only seen two for sale on Craigslist that were close enough to go get. Missed one by a few minutes the guy told me. The other was almost rotted through on the bottom and missing parts. He wanted $400 firm, so I passed. Even though it was in such bad shape, I kinda kick myself now for not buying it.

Hello neighbor! I live just outside of Kingsport. I had to look this attachment up. Looks like a small pop-up camper! Never knew something like this existed.

I considered building a similiar contraption. My idea was to use one of those little red wagons and build a cage out of chicken wire and a frame out 1X2" piece of wood and connect the tube from the grass catcher to a flex hose going into the side of the wagon. I think I have an extra tube out in my yard barn for an extension.

I can see that the wagon is offset to the side of the grass catcher tube and instead of a flex hose, just a piece of fabric.

Dad said the blade wouldn't have enough power to throw the leaves into the wagon but I think it would work. I could see how grass maybe an issue but not leaves.

We once had a Snapper tractor type. I forget the model but it had two blades. It did not mulch very well nor did the grass catcher work. The best ones are the single blade mowers. Even my twin blade 46" Craftsman does not mulch leaves as well as my old Snapper SR1433.
