I bought a used Bachtold Bros brush cutter. Model name is The Whipper, model number is W24. It's a great piece of equipment, but I can't find a source for the drive belt. I only found a small piece of the belt after it broke, so I can't simply measure the carcass.

I've been all over the web and all I can find is the company is out of business and no one knows anything. I'm hoping the collective wisdom of this group will help resurrect a great machine.

Thanks all,

Haha, I have a Whipper! Don't know the belt size off my head...r any other way but take it off. I think it's a 5/8 v belt. I'd go to the local auto parts store and get a belt at what you estimate to be the right size and go from there. If it's short go exchange for a longer one, etc. til you hit paydirt. then keep the sleeve for future reference.
