AYP BLADE ENGAGEMENT CABLE ------- NEED HELP PLEASE !!

poulan pro -- Electrolux mod 96012000301 42 in riding mower.. I'm working on this one. It is missing the blade engagement cable. I have a new cable but am unsure how it actually attaches to the handle that you raise up to engage the blades. The end of the cable has the normal round ball, also has a small plastic piece there as well. The handle just has a hole for the cable. The ball on the end of the cable is larger than the hole in the handle. The plastic piece on the cable, just below the ball, plays into this somehow but I'm not sure. I've looked online for install instructions, looked on YouTube, etc.......... I can find nothing.

I've also looked under AYP as I'm told that AYP made this machine.

Can anyone help me?? Thanks much

Here is an owners manual, I know that it is not exactly your unit but it may help. Post back and let me know what is different.

Rivets, Thank you buddy............... A diagram in there showed me what was missing. On the handle you engage the blades with, there is a small nub type piece that the cable fits on. That nub is missing and a hole is there....... It had me going in circles.
