How many of you remember where you were and what you were doing at the time you got the news of 9/11? While I can barely remember what I was doing a week ago, I will always remember that morning, probably for the rest of my life.

It will give you some idea of how old I am, when I reveal that I still recall where I was and what I was doing at the moment Kennedy was shot, I can even recall the name of the teacher who told us the news.

And one more thing I will never forget is that in the days and weeks that followed, I was never prouder of being an citizen of the United States. God Bless Our Nation.

I was at school. Everything was halted as we watched the news.

I can't remember where I was, but then I would have only been about 6 years old.

Words can't explain how bad an event it was though. Truly awful.

Forgive me, but I thought it happened on the 11th of September ? This is the 2nd...

Correct about the date, but our newspapers and magazines are already full of stories about the "ten years later"...no way does anybody wait until the last minute. Over on TBN somebody started a thread a week ago.

Oh well, there is no point in being exact I suppose.

I think I'm right in saying the one tower that will replace the Twin Towers is due for completion in 2013 ? It will be a bittersweet moment when it is built I'm sure.

I was at work in a truck listening to Howard stern show. His show at the time was in NYC. And reported it live minus the ten second delay. I called the wife and she didn't believe me. He reported it a good 15 min before anything local did.

In school teaching ...
I had students who had parents in the Pentagon and one Girl's father was at the Pentagon and her mother was on a flight to NY --- this girl didn't know if she had lost both parents that day. It turned out that neither parent was harmed, but she went through HELL that day. Makes me tear up and ANGRY at the same time.

I was taking my youngest to the babysitter when I heard on the radio that a plane had crashed into one of the towers. I thought some idiot in a small plane got caught up in looking at the scenery. When I got to the babysitters, I sat down in front of the TV and was watching when the second plane hit. I knew then what was going on.

I wasn't around when Kennedy was shot, but I do remember where I was and what I was doing when Reagan was shot and when the Challenger blew up. These, along with many others both national and local, are among memories I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
