Hey everyone need some help here. I have a customer with an old drive disk gear type Snapper its from the 70-80's. I replaced the drive disk and it worked fine for a little while then stopped. The shifting linkage works fine and the disk is making contact but it will not move. When I turned it up right the back wheels spin in opposite directions no matter where the shifter is set at. Please Help I checked the chain in the large gear box and its okay but havent checked the small one.

Remove the battery if equipped and stand the mower on it's end. Put the shifter in the roll position and hold tension against both rear wheels and turn the drive disc by hand and see if drives both rear wheels? If it don't, you might have a chain broke in one of the gear cases or the gears on the long and short axels could be stripped. Also if the bottom oil seal on the engine is leaking, it can cause the drive disc not to pull against the drive plate.
