42" Murray idle air screw adjustment?

yeah its in storage and been raining the last couple weeks. ill have to take a look next time im cutting grass or get a chance.

You guys....🙄. If it is a mixture screw, in will lean the mixture, out enrichens. If it is an air bleed screw, in enrichens, out leans. Turn it out 3 turns and start the mower. This is for idle only as the main jet controls the fast idle mixture. Set throttle to idle. Turn screw in....if it starts to run weakly as it's slowly turned in it's a mixture screw and the mixture is becoming lean. If it starts to "blubber" it's an air bleed screw and it's running rich. Listen to the engine to discern the difference. Then adjust, in either case, till the engine idles smoothly. You can't hurt the engine, at idle, with a mixture that is too lean or rich.

I gave up on the OP as he/she/it refuses to help us to help the OP. I do know Nikki single barrel carbs do have have a restricter jet that basically makes adjust the mixture pointless.

yeah this is terrible i got the model engine. It was the choke stuck half way that had it bogging down i believe so i sorta kind started messing with the lower screw not the one on top to the throttle blade. It had threw the original blade belt a year ago and just got a new oem belt, gas tank a few weeks ago and ebay carb replaced in 2021.

This is also the one i was looking for the carb to intake air filter housing o ring. It had to come off when replacing carb and gas tank a couple weeks ago.
