I have a 3 hp briggs and Straton. Hadn't been cranked in 8 years. Finally got it to turn over for 5 seconds. I did this for about 15 tries and sprayed out the carb with cleaner. Must have washed into cylinder and stuck the rings, I now have no compression. I have the plug hole filled with carb cleaner and the oil drain open. Hope to fill up with carb cleaner tomorrow and see if it will break loose. Any other suggestions? Hope some one can help me out if I put new pistons and rings in. Thanks

no compression?....did you check with a compression gauge?......if its as bad as you say..just pull the head off and clean it.....i dont like the idea of carb cleaner filling the crankcase...use marvel mystery instead....can you take pictures?

No compression, along with everything else you mentioned it probably has stuck valves. Buy gaskets, Carb kit etc. tear it down clean it up. Those little briggs were hard to wear out, it just needs a little TLC.
