Scag has gone to the 40hp Vanguard for the new Turf Tigers.
Kawasaki has the FD series water cooled engine.
Kohler (Rehlko) has the 38hp Command Pro EFI.

I won’t know what happened until I get the original engine back and pull it apart myself. I am not paying them $110 an hour to pull the engine apart. The low oil pressure light never came on that I saw I look where I’m mowing if the light came on, I never saw it I would like to put a Kawasaki engine in it, but it has to be rewired in different mounts I believe.
$110 per hour in my area is average. Most expensive dealer is John Deere and they are at $190 per hour. Go ahead and take it off and take it apart if you want to save money. You will then realize why shops charge what they do.

The whole “warranty” thing from toasters to a $100,000 vehicle basically is often poorly understood. Most of the time warranty covers manufacturers defects. That does not mean in a case such as an engine, covering lack of maintenance such as:
Infrequent oil changes
Running it low on oil over time
Clogged/dirty cooling fins
Bad fuel
Damaged air filter/dirt ingestion

Often the service and maintenance is not performed, and people lean way to heavily on WARRANTY. Oh it’s warranty. It’s under warranty. I got a warranty. I have never personally had a warranty on anything that helped me.

It surely is not a maintenance issue that caused this the mower has been maintained to the max. It is blown off with high compressed air after each use and deck bottom cleaned oil -Hydro checked before each mowing The mower looks like the day it was delivered back in 2021. Every piece of equipment I own looks and is maintained the same way From 75 Hp tractor to the lawn mower

My lord if you read the warranty it is only 3 yrs for consumer and commercial use. And you are outside that warranty and don't have leg to stand on per say; unless, you a written extended warranty.

Now as for the failure it looks like a connecting rod failure.

Just for some light statistics. 95% of warranty failures occur in the first 5 hours of operation. And between .5-1% of all failures are caused by manufacturer defects.
