So I have a relatively new 22" Craftsman mower model 917.376480.
The OEM cable broke and shortly after so did the level/bail arm.
I have replaced both items with the factor parts from Sears and noticed that the new parts barely operate the throttle due to the appalling design which wraps the cable from teh front left of the mower deck up the handle bars and then across to the RHS of the mower. This long curing run allows for a lot of slack in the cable for which there is no adjustment.
I have noticed that the newer Sears mowers and Toro badged equivalents have a short, straight cable and different actuator level with an attachment on teh LHS of the handle so that the cable pulls staight down to the engine plate to engage the throttle.
Does anyone know of the parts numbers i need to order to upgrade the cable, lever and mounting block on the handlebar to get the thing functioning properly?
Any help would be appreciated.
