2016 Turf Tiger hard to start

Hello,
2016 Turf Tiger purchased used with new Kohler engine, which is now about 4 years old. Personal use only.

turn the key on I can hear the fuel pump turn on and the mower starts fine. Turn the mower off then try to restart and no pump sound and no start. if I let it set for several hours or over night the same sequence starts over again.
when it does run it feels sluggish and low on power.

1: Shouldn’t the pump run every timeI turn the key on?

The error codes are: 0230 fuel pump low voltage or open
0337 crank shaft position
0174: lean fuel at high load

I replaced relay under the key switch area. Which is the only relay I can find on the wiring diagram.

Check all the wiring harness on the front bottom corner of the engine. These are having issues with rub through and breaking wires along with poor connections.

The design was rushed to market before is was fully vetted in my opinion.

There are a few videos online about these.

Was the relay you replaced an OEM number part? Not all relays are designed the same internally.

Just mowed with it and she dies after 20 minutes or so and then wouldn’t start again till she cooled off.
Yes, the relay is OEM. I will check the wires when I get a chance. Took the pump apart and it appears to have been opened before. The pump worked fine every time I connect to 12 volt source but I’m thinking it is over heating. I have ordered a new one. If I find chafed wires I’ll just keep it and use it later.

That sounds like the familiar problem with the fuel pickup tube getting debris caught in it at the fuel line connection point. The tube needs to be removed and blown through with shop air over a paper towel. That stuff collects over a long period of time. Grass clippings, bugs and dirt have a chance to get in every time the fill cap is taken off.

When the machine finally stalls, this trapped debris relaxes and gradually slips back down the pickup tube, then it gets gradually sucked back up again.

Thanks, I’m in the process of changing all the hoses. If I’m lucky I’ll have an extra pump for when it really goes bad. I looked at the pump motor and the pump motor works every time I put 12v to it but I’m not running it hot. I’m assuming it needs fuel to stay cool. I’ll post a follow up when she gets back together. Thanks for all your help!

0230 could be mice chewing wires to the pump or wear as Auto Doc's said. Make sure you have battery voltage and a good ground here.
0174 might be from the 0230 code.
0337 could be the sensor or wiring to it.

Clean and check main ground and other suspect wiring.
