Hi Everybody
Just a shout out to say how happy I still am riding and mowing on my RZT50 by Cub Cadet. Bought new in 2008, it still runs strong. Nothing but oil changes and air filter replacements for the engine, one idler pulley for the deck, tubes for the tires, twice I have replaced the transmission oil, belts and blades when needed. Everything is original and it’s almost twenty years old. IMG_1413-compressed.jpegIMG_1412-compressed.jpegIMG_1419-compressed.jpegIMG_1421-compressed.jpegIMG_1416-compressed.jpeg

I have 2 customers with that mower and one with the red troy bilt version still going. Nice thing is the parts are still reasonable and plentiful. If the deck hangar cables break replace them with chain and keep an eye out for cracks in the deck around the spindle mounting bolts. Especially the center one.

Thanks for the tips. I purchased some deck hanging cables years ago thinking they looked pretty cheap, but they have lasted. Sometimes you get a good one.

Good stuff! Absolutely my favorite Cub mower for cutting grass. Which engine did you get on your RZT? The Kohler, Kawasaki or the Briggs? I have the Kawasaki engines on my RZT mowers. I removed my transaxles once to change the oil in them and I decided that's not going to happen again. The next one, I drilled with a 1/8" NPT drill and tap kit from the jungle site and installed some 1/8" NPT "drain" plugs. Now my transaxles get an oil change the same time the engine does every Spring. + about a cup of Lucas.

I have a 2014 RZT S50 and a 2011 Z-Force 48 and both have turned out to be strong reliable machines.
