Hey all,

I’ve had a LT1050 with the Kohler Command 26 since 2004 (I think). It’s been a great little mower. It was put into my backup/ditch mower status after I bought a Ferris ZTR. Lately I’ve been having an issue of the motor surging and almost dying after running for about 20-30 mins with or without the PTO engaged. The first 20-30 mins it runs great and has no issues.
I keep the oil changed, filters all changed, and new gas. It’s got me a little stumped. Any ideals why it would run fine for 20-30 mins and then try to stall out?
Thought I’d check before I donate it to someone. I’m attached to it since I use to carry my son on it with me when he was a toddler and have put so many hours on it myself.

Sounds like the tank is not venting properly. On older mowers they vented through the fill cap. On newer mowers they have a one-way check valve at the top on the tank or hidden in a line under the body panels.

Try running it with the fuel fill cap loose and see if the problem still happens.

Ok, thank you for the ideal. I’ll try that next now. I appreciate you.
