I just picked up a 1997 Super recycler that appears in nice condition, and runs great. The blade-brake system even seems to function well, Heck- the P.O. even gave me the original manual with it. I am a 2-cycle LB guy, so I don't have a clue- are these worth anything?

I’m a Toro guy, but yours being 22 years old using the old style BBC system, I would not give more than $25 for that unit, unless it has the Suzuki engine. There are too many things that could go wrong, even though everything works now. Could come back to bite you if you oversell the unit. If it has the Suzuki engine I would go up to $60.

How do you determine if it is a suzuki engine?

Just post the model and serial numbers off the mower and we can look it up.

If I’ve done my homework right, you have a Briggs and Stratton engine.
