What is the torque on the connecting rod bolts? 12 hp briggs

I rather think the previous posted got his units slightly mixed up.
Number might be right if we are talking about a side valve engine, 190 but they are INCH POUNDS not foot pounds.
If it is a Vanguard then it is 90 inch pounds
If it is an OHV ( not Intek ) then it is 100 inch pounds

because it popped up as as recient post and numb nus here did not think to check the OP date.
However because this is searchable cyberspace that will probably exist forever, wrong answers needs to be corrected .
We don't want some one to search the forum then do up their conrod bolts to 190'lbs, unless we are trying to off load a bunch of old rods.

I guess if someone wants to torque a 5/16 bolt to 195 ft. lbs. you know as well as me what will happen, they shouldn't be doing there own work :thumbdown:
