10518 winter project

Turfboy, or anyone tell me more about governing..... Is there a process to this? I do not have a rpm gauge to check with. All I know is you adjust with the thumb screw at the bottom of the governor fane.

I just go by sound since i have done so many of them. There is a video on youtube of a guy setting his 10520 that might be helpful. i believe that each click either direction is +/- 50 rpm. There are several threads on here about induction tachs that might be helpful for you. I mowed my yard with a 10518 last night and it is dialed in perfectly and mowed perfect. It is my first time to mow with a gold series with the 5hp modular carburetor. It seemed to respond to load really well since there is no altitude adjustment.
 
Has anyone seen videos about cleaning the transmissions on this or similar models? I must be searching wrong....
