New Blades A48184 OME 3" wide???

I bought 3 new blades wasn't paying complete attention and the Amazon add 3 pack 16.5" Scag A48184 3" .204 OME also fits Lesco Simplicity etc. The problem as many know is that OME for Freedom Z 48" deck is 16.5 - 2.5 - .204. Has anyone used a 3" wide blade or would it be best not to use. Does anyone know.

Is the 48184 2.5" wide interchangeable with the 482877 can anyone answer that question?

You may want to check with the dealer and find out. Can I ask who manufactured the blades, are they Oregon? Generally a 3" blade is a commercial blade made for heavy duty use.

I would stay away from 3" wide blades on a Freedom Z.
The 2.5" wide A48184 blade is similar to the 482877 blade. The 482877 is considered a higher lift blade than the A48184, the bent up tab is longer and the only difference that I see.
I have used both on my 48" Velocity deck, but now I use G3 Gator blades, Oregon # 96-308, for munching, open side discharge and collection system.
On the Oregon mower parts website, you can type in any OEM and their part number and get an Oregon aftermarket replacement number. There are other aftermarket parts suppliers, but the Oregon site is the best place to get cross reference and blade specs.

I have a scag tiger cub that has 16.5"x 3" OEM blades and have used 16.5 x 2.5" blades for over 5 yrs. now and the only difference I've noticed is that they are slightly lighter, yet just as durable, shouldn't affect performance at all.:thumbsup:
