On a zero turn, does the ROPS only serve for safety in case of a roll over or does it also tie in and create a more stable frame? Is the warranty affected with or without it on?

I THINK I have it narrowed down to either a Toro Titan MX5400 or Husqvarna M-ZT52. I would apologize for another of these "which one" postings, but I have read a bunch of them here and find them extremely helpful. I hope others that are doing research will benefit from your feedback as well...
