    Thinking It’s Lawn Tractor Time

Lawn isn’t huge but I end up splitting it into 3 areas. About 20-30 minutes each. I’m still working in my early ‘60’s so time is a premium. And I’m getting lazy ; ) I’ve been shopping lower end 42” tractors. Decent slope in backyard. I’m also thinking leaf pickup so bagger is a must. I...

    ECHO PB 265L Compression Check

My small backpack leaf blower wasn't running well. I didn't have time to go through carb so I dropped it off at local shop. They told me it's not worth fixing - low compression showing scored cylinders. I checked compression myself to make sure. I get ~89. Added few drops of 2-cycle oil and...

PB 265L Running Rough - Local shop tried to tell me cylinder scored!

I took my rough running Echo to local shop. After a few days they call to tell me it's not worth fixing. Compression is low, cylinder scored. I already bought a new larger Still and I'm very happy with it. But I decide to check the compression myself. I get just under 90. Not knowing what...

Anyone look into having old mower deck dipped?

The mulching mower I picked up is pretty ratty looking. I've heard sandblasting/painting doesn't work out that well. Anybody ever try having it dipped like they do for car restorations? Not sure how much that would cost. Did Snapper use a special paint process?

Going to rebuild/clean my B&S 12h802-1531-21 carb. Is there something I can soak carb in overnight (or couple days) at home or does it take industrial strength cleaner to really get into all nooks a crannies?

    Hard starting Snapper Big Six

I have a Big Six from ~ '97. It's my secondary mower so sometimes it goes longer without using. Had carb replaced about two years ago. Now it will only start cold with starting fluid. After 1st start it's good to go. Is it easier to just get new carb? Or does price point to clean rebuild?
