Have to take the fuel tank out if you are referring to the shorter, thicker belt

My FS-40 did this...couple of the fuel lines were split due to age...for $50 i got a new carb..fuel lines..tank vent and filter from Sawzilla and runs like new.

my 22hp Briggs carb has two of those jets. They are different size and have to be installed in the right spot.I replaced mine earlier this summer and engine runs like new for being 10 years old.

Thanks all this one has the throttle mounted in the top engine shroud; no half cam wheel. I see a bolt in the trigger housing, but took that off earlier and didnt see a way to adjust from there.

Recently got an older Stihl FS-40C trimmer from the in-laws. It hasnt been cranked for a few years,but cleaned the carb and got it running in pretty good shape. My question; is there a throttle cable adjustment? The end of the throttle cable where it attaches to the carb has about a 1/4" slack...

Good point Forest thinking my father in law tried to remove it at some point and didnt finish. It does have the carriage bolt head up above that is hard to access.

So I wanted to update this one again..the drive belt was purchased on Amazon, not Lowes. I kept having issues with it coming off, usually after stopping and shifting to reverse and then back forward. I ordered the belt from Sears parts and installed this weekend. It was maybe 1/4 inch shorter...

My bad.... I got this drive belt from Lowes. I think the belt I took off was possibly the original, but the belt stayed on the few times I mowed with it before replacing.

Thanks Forest, I have the owners manual and the belt routing sticker under the tractor. The belt I ordered came from Sears Parts direct as well as the new pulleys. Mine does have the two rear pulleys which are about 3 months old.

I checked everything I could get my hands on and it all seems tight. I will keep looking and see what I can find. Thanks for all the tips.

I got my Oregon Gator blades 42" off of Amazon for about $40.

I believe on mine, the forward/reverse foot pedal has to be in the neutral position.

update: set the exhaust at 0.06 and the intake at 0.05. Runs like new now..thanks for the advice!

The fuel tank is not the easiest to remove; have done mine a few time already.

I was recently gifted a 2014 T3000. I spent hours blowing grass clippings off the transmission and all under the tractor. The amount of grass would have filled a small dumpster. I replaced the CVT belt as well. Doing good so far... 442 hours

I recently was gifted a 2014 craftsman T3000 with the RS 800 transmission. Axle seals were leaking bad. Ordered 2 from Amazon and installed. I put some gasket maker on the seals before installing and problem solved.

I replaced the smart drive cable on my Honda last spring and that handle is a pain to get reassembled again. It took me a few tries, but I finally managed to get it back working.

I did this to my 10 year old Honda last spring. Took everything out, replaced the belt, pinion gears and changed the transmission oil. Sanded the shafts down and put it back together. Worked great up until last week or so and starting to bind again.

i never knew those pinion gears had a punch mark that needed to be facing a certain way.

I ordered a new one from Amazon along with a new belt and changed them both. Hooking up the cable with the Smart Drive was a pain at first, then saw on the video how to give it some slack.

That video saved me frustration today. I replaced belt and drive cable and couldn't get the Smart drive put back together. Put the screwdriver behind the transmission and rest the mower on it. It will give more slack and help line up the pin.

If i may make a correction...my model # ( from the deck plate of the mower ) is HRR2169VKA. not sure if it makes a difference in the part number for the belt.
