    How tight should they be?

I am replacing the idler pulleys. On the pulley on the right, if sitting in the seat, how tight should the bolt that goes through the deck that holds the arm on be tightened? How about the bolt holding the pulley to that arm? Should they be TIGHT! or a little loose to allow the arm to move?

    Belt jump and deck noise

I have changed all pulleys and still have this rattle and belt jump. Do I need to tighten the tensioner bolt more? Reason I ask, is I can remove the belt with lots of pressure by removing it around the pulley on the left… it isn’t easy, but can be done! This mower when new, with the blades...

    New pulley bearing not smooth

I bought a new idler pulley for my ZT HD52...when spinning the shaft to check the bearing, it has a spot that you can feel it sort of bump when spinning it. I don't know how to really explain it. Is it a bad bearing? I assume I need to get another pulley?

    Shredding belts after replacing spindles

I recently changed my spindles and thought it didn't look right but ran it anyway. Now, sure enough, I am shredding my belt. My middle spindle pulley looks to be sitting too high...I thought I had put everything back just like it was. Is that my problem...how can I fix this?

HD52, 991083 loud deck when engaged!

ok guys, I got my new spindles in and they came with new bolts and washers. All of the washers are flat, but one of the old ones is sort of lipped so part of it fits into the pulley, if that makes any sense...do I reuse this old one? or use the new flat one?

HD52, 991083 loud deck when engaged!

For me it's simply a time issue more than anything...working 12 hours days makes it hard to get to a shop that has the tools needed and will do the work. I'm sure I'd have to leave it with them then pick it up on another day, so that's two days I have to find free time to get to town to get to...

I got a spindle removed but cannot for the life of me break loose the piece thats screwed into the spindle covering the bearing...I'm using a pipe wrench on each end and a cheater pipe 4 ft long! My deck is REALLY loud when the blades are engaged and I pretty sure it's the pulley bearings or spindle bearings. I would like to change them all...do all the bearings have bearings? Just trying to formulate a parts list before I get a chance to pull the mower out and look things over.

Any haggling room at the dealer?

I have almost decided to pull the trigger on a Gravely ZT 52HD. I was quoted a price which is exactly the same as other dealers I have looked at online. Are they like a car dealership with room to haggle? I never like paying sticker price!
