    Major Snowblower Vibrations

My snowblower just started doing this major vibration thing! I know what can cause vibration in a mower---do you look for the same kinds of things when troubeshooting??

    Notable Snow Structures

We have had a LOT of snow in the last two weeks. The other day when I went to town I saw a FULL SIZE igloo that someone built. They made all these blocks of snow and then constructed the thing. Any snow structures of note in your area?

Just Do It or Gather Ideas??

When you are considering new garden and landscaping projects, do you decide what you want to do and then just do it, or do you like to gather ideas first? If you're an idea gatherer, where do you like to look for ideas?

    Trade Ins?

Do lawn and garden places ever take trade ins on riding mowers? With all the Black Friday incentives I'm seeing, I'm thinking I could upgrade my ride-on and get a really good deal right now.

    Smoking Mower Issue

Every so often, even in the winter, I start my riding mower and run it a little. I did it yesterday and my mower was putting out a ton of smoke. It was fine the last time I used it. What could be the cause?

    Deer Barriers

The one fall chore I did not follow through on was creating deer barriers around some new, young cedar trees we planted. We have ten of them. Are there some inexpensive materials I could use for this?

    Garden Window For Herbs

My wife is hounding me to install a "garden window" over the kitchen sink. She wants to grow herbs in there year round. Are they pricey? Can a person install on themselves??

    Worth It To Hydro Seed?

I have about a half acre of open field on a slight slope that I got tilled up as my last project of the season. I want it to grow in quickly, because it'll be a colassal mess if I don't. Would it be worth it to pay someone and hydro seed it, or can I do just as well on my own?

    Carburetor Cure?

My 28" Craftsman walk behind snow blower needs carburetor work. The repair shop in town is way backed up with work. I'm fairly mechanically skilled----anybody ever do their own carburetor work? The shop suggested going with a carburetor "kit".

    What A Bite!

I don't know about you, but I go through quite a few shear pins for my snow blower each season. The first year I had my big Craftsman, I went almost the whole season on the originals. Then we had a really big snow and I took a large stone. Didn't have any spare pins on hand---what a bite!

    Eco-Friendly Ice Melt?

I've been really been making an effort to "go Green" the last year. Is there a eco-friendly version of ice melt?? The road to my place is pretty steep, and I have to make sure it stays ice free.

    Thatch Attachment

I'm kind of new to the riding mower scene. Just moved to the Mid-South and I've got a lot of grass with a big thatch problem. Rather than rent an aerator, are there such things as mower add-ons that I could invest in??

Fall Fertilizing In Warm Climate Zones

It's my understanding that because the grass starts to go dormant, it is best for warm area grasses to not be fertilized in the fall because fertilizing a dormant lawn can burn the roots. I'm new to the mid-south----always lived up north. Am I on the right track?
