Lazer Z with Kohler Command Pro 26 EFI

My experience with Kohler Efi has shown fault with fuel pressure every time. Those fuel pumps are pathetic. Especially the after markets ones.

    FB460V-CS00

Sometimes it’s cheaper to buy a complete aftermarket carb and use parts from it to repair your oem one rather than buy individual parts. Try to keep oem carb. Inferior metals are sometimes used to cast aftermarket carbs.

    FB460V-CS00

Always try to keep the original carburetor. Recently I repaired and cleaned out a carburetor that had some rubber stopping it up. I cleaned it put it back. The other ran fine for about 10 minutes and then the carburetor was acting up again flooding out the engine. After pulling it apart and...

    Blowing oil out of breather

Check compression. Low compression could mean bad rings letting oil to piston. If it ran with gas for oil, then it could have ruined the rings and causing them to now smoke permanently.

    Repair shop needs advice

I guess I’m more interested to know if having a brick and motar with good visibility would yield more profit than working from home. When I go to other shops to buy parts they have more customers while I’m there for 15 minutes than I see in a week. What kind of profit could I expect in the DFW...

    Repair shop needs advice

To all small engine repair shops. I’ve run my shop for 10 years and still trying to find ways to optimize profits. If you are willing to share your ideas, please comment. My rates are similar to other brick and motor repair shops near me. I work from a home shop. In my service I specialize in...

Please help me find this part!

It’s a vent hose. You do not need it to use mower. Let the tank breath air normally and plug up the carb hole so it does not breath additional air. The purpose of the line is to suck gas fumes back into the carburetor and not allow the gas tank to vent to normal air like every other lawnmower on...

    Age old question, Winter Storage?

I have been repairing lawn equipment for 10 years. Each rear my advice for storing and general use of OPE has changed little by little. I don’t advise using sta-bil. As it does work if used as directed, many people overdose their fuel and the the sta-bil begins to clog carburetor. I recommend...

10 Year Old Raptor Bogging Down

Valves is a reasonable consideration to check. I sent at nominal .004/.006 “ for intake/exhaust. If that does not work have the carb recleaned using an ultrasonic cleaning bath. Do check spindles and idler pulleys on deck.

    Help Diagnosing Issue

Coils can go out when engine warms up. Check spark or cylinder activity when engine starts acting up. If it cools down coil most likely will start working again.

    Craftsman Rider dies

Take the fuel system out of the loop entirely. I keep a spare small tank handy for testing. Plug that in and test again. You will confirm if it is the fuel system if it works with alternate fuel tank.

    I'm no mechanic, need help...

In your video, it appears that the engine is not idling, but the throttle is wide open. It also shows in your video that the choke seems to be mostly closed. This sounds like the engine is running too rich and the smoke coming from the engine is because it has too much fuel. Find out why your...

    John Deere JS38 push mower

Sometimes the electric coil for the spark plug can heat up and stop working. Check the spark from your coil going to the spark plug and make sure that is still working when you try to restart your motor. Coils tend to fail when they get hot not when they’re cold.

Can not get the drain plug out of the hose.

I use a Vacuum Tool I purchased from Harbor Freight to suck the oil out of the Riding Mower’s. This allows you not to have to use the drain plug on the motor.

    Briggs 18.5 hp Wont Run

I set the Briggs valve gaps at .004. / .006 for intake / exhaust. Cutting wires to fuel cutoff solenoid on bottom of carb will do nothing if solenoid is stuck in upward position. Solenoid will still block flow. If you replaced the carb, it should’ve come with a new fuel solenoid. Don’t bother...

If the spark is going away after 5 minutes(or motor warming up) then consider the coil being a problem. Coils that are failing with sometime work when cold but stop working when hot.
