Here is the model and serial number. I didn’t have a whole lot of time to look at it today. I can only push it in neutral. When it’s in gear I can’t push it at all so maybe something is stuck?

I have a 2005 yard machines 21hp with a 46 inch cut. I was in the middle of mowing my yard when suddenly the forward and reverse decide to stop working. When you hit the pedal the drive belts start smoking in the front so I’m assuming the problem is under the seat. What can be the cause of this?

After putting a new belt on and engaging the pto, this is what things are looking like. That pulley is looking pretty crooked. Not to mention the belt is riding on the bottom. I tried taking off the pulley, but the bolt will just turn and turn without coming out. I can’t figure out how to remove...

I kinda thought so myself. How do you realign them?

I spun both of those pulleys and they both spin freely. No bad noise from either of them, pretty solid. I did notice one thing though. The belt I had on was a 754-0350 and it was not factory. A factory belt is a 754-0349.

The belt you see here is coming off the engine pto. This belt pretty much starts riding right at the bottom of the pulley when the pro is engaged. I’ll post another pic that shows the damage to the belt

Would a OEM belt be the only solution? I know they are a little spendy

Not sure how well you can see this, but this is the damage it’s cause to a newly replaced belt after about 30-40 minutes of cutting

This is the one I’m talking about. It seems the belt is resting on the bottom of the pulley and as a result, is cutting into the belt. The belt is not factory made.

One thing I just realized is the belt is cutting into the bottom of one of the pulleys coming from the top of the tractor. Is there a way to lower this pulley?
