Blade belt shredded

I recently bought a used Yard machines riding mower. 21 hp, 46 inch deck with 3 blades. I don’t know what year it is. It starts, runs and cut great. The only problem is that shortly after putting a new belt on, it got completely shredded. Afterwards I removed the deck, sharpened up the blades, completely cleaned and lubed everything, checked the pulleys and all that and everything seems fine. I’m wondering how do I find out what year this thing is, and is there a way to see a diagram of the deck to make sure all springs are where they are supposed to be? I really don’t want another shredded belt.

This should be of some assistance. Most likely you missed a belt guide when the new belt was installed cutting the belt.

One thing I just realized is the belt is cutting into the bottom of one of the pulleys coming from the top of the tractor. Is there a way to lower this pulley?

From what I looked up with your tag info it's 2004.
Anyway you can post a picture of the pulley interference ?
Did you install a factory belt for the deck ?

This is the one I’m talking about. It seems the belt is resting on the bottom of the pulley and as a result, is cutting into the belt. The belt is not factory made.

Not sure how well you can see this, but this is the damage it’s cause to a newly replaced belt after about 30-40 minutes of cutting

That looks like a Napa belt..anyway, most all aftermarket belts are not the same as OEM and don't work right or last any amount of time!
