    20hp vanguard help please!

My father-in-law has an agco Allis 1720h with a 20hp vanguard. The last few times using it just for light pulling work it will run fine then all of a sudden its like it's only running on one cylinder. This happens very sporadically no matter what throttle position it is in. Sometimes it will...

Would like your input on what mower to buy

Depends on budget....if money is any option I'd go with an isx3300. Now if you are trying to stay within a certain budget I'd look at the isx800. I see you posted in other brands also, I would hands down get a ferris. I do not own a ferris due to needing a machine for blowing snow, but if I was...

Looking for help selecting a riding mower

I believe you are doing the right thing by looking at the x series in a garden tractor. Now back to the zero turns. If for say you had a budget of $5500, that then opens the door to a ton of options. Imho, at that price point on a 1/2 acre, you could get into a machine that should very easily...

Looking for help selecting a riding mower

I'm assuming you are looking at the x300series, there are a broad range of options in that line up, all of which would be fine for .5 acres. Unless you are against a zero turn, I would highly suggest checking out a toro time cutter. A zero turn would greatly reduce your mowing time, especially...

Is600z vs jd 540r vs timecutter

My father in law is looking at these three models. Naturally he is attracted to green paint, but after looking around it appears for the money the ferris is600z has more to offer. He will be mowing roughly 1.5acres. Anyone have any input on these models?

tires for wet, spongey, hilly ground

Bar tires would help. You would have to pay attention when you turn around. Honestly when I switch to bar tires on my grasshopper, I tore up the lawn less because the tires dont skid near as much.

If it were me in your situation, I would highly suggest going to your closest reputable dealers and check out what they have in your price range. I always tell people when you're looking at a new machine make sure you're comparing apples to apples as there are so many different options out...

Where are you located? The z530m at my jd dealer is listed at $4799 for a 60". Location could matter on pricing. I'm actually helping my father in law with his search for a new ztr. The jd z530 had a 4yr warranty, the toro we were looking at had a 3. I believe the ariens should have at least a...

    Another recommendation needed,,, pretty please.

I agree with everything the prior poster has said, except for the part about the stamped decks being less superior. John deere runs a stamped deck on all their ztrs, we have one on our farm that we have absolutely abused and still holds together strong. I would suggest checking out the new...

    Another recommendation needed,,, pretty please.

Imo, if a 60" will go between all your obstacles, that's the way I'd lean. Depending on tire size and width of the machine generally on a 60" deck you will have more deck hanging out which makes it a little nicer for getting closer around objects. As far as your budget goes, $5k might be a...

    ISX 2200 52" vs 61" deals - any input?

I dont not own a ferris, but in the fall of 2019 I demoed just about every popular brand of midmount zero turn in our area. The ferris I demoed was a 2100z, 61", 26hp carb, but without the suspension seat. I mow a hair over 3acres, mostly flat with about 20 trees. I will say that the 2100...

Which one should I buy john Deere 757 or z375r

We have a 757 60" that we bought used 10yrs ago with 700hrs on for our farm. We now have over 1500hrs on it and it has been very highly abused, although we do keep up on the maintenance on it according to the book. It has been a very reliable machine, mainly just belts, blades, and normal wear...

New member, similar dilemma. First large cost ZTR purchase

Imo, ferris isx 800, is2100z, or isx2200. All three will come in way under your 15k and be more than enough mower for your needs. You could go to an isx3300 and that would get you closer to 15k!!!

Front mount grasshopper imo. You mentioned low hanging trees and bagging, the front mount grasshoppers are great for those. They also are very comfortable and leave a good cut. Everyone has their own opinion but I have tried several mowers in my time and this is what I have ended up with. Oh...

I didnt have any problems with it. I bought it from a local older gentleman that bought it new. It was a solid machine. Had an air ride seat and awd. Deere 1420 front deck mower question about engine

Just recently sold my 1420 with 840hrs. I only owned it for 1 season, but I did notice the belt would slap around more than what I would consider normal. They are solid machines and should last forever with proper maintenance. I would make sure the belt is good and tight.

Out front mower purchase - kubota, husky, iseki

I have no experience with the front mowers that you have mentioned, however I have owned and spent several hrs on a jd 1420 4x4 front mount with an air ride seat. Grasshopper 932 72" or ferris is2100z 61"

I would be using a snowthrower on the grasshopper, but if I buy a machine for just mowing it will be hands down the ferris. I've done several hrs of demos on my property and the ferris was far and above more comfortable than the other midmounts I ran.
