Confirm when you engage the choke, that it is completely shutting off the carb intake. Do a visual on it, don't just feel it with your fingers. The fix is easy, move the cable in or out to make a tight seal.

Do a visual inspection on the inside of the gas tank and make sure you don't have some debris that is floating around and then plugging the inlet hole (not making it to the filter). Floating again, and replugging.

Look under your tractor and confirm that there is no grass build up preventing the forward/reverse lever from moving all the way back when the reverse pedal is pushed. Look mainly at the back where the rod attaches to the transmission, but also look at the front by the pedal.

Running on one cylinder and the load of the PTO kills the engine? That might explain why the PTO works with no deck installed.

Here is a spot to lubricate, but I doubt this is where the issue is. My guess is you have grass clippings in the back portion.

I wonder if you have a coil failing when it warms up on one cylinder? That could explain what you are experiencing. Next time it happens. Pull the spark plug wire on each cylinder and see if when you do it nothing changes. If nothing changes, that is the cylinder/coil that has issues.

When you start it back up, does it run fine for another 20 minutes? Could a coil be going bad and it goes down to one cylinder after it heats up after 20 minutes?

I doubt this is it, but I didn't read where you replaced the spark plug. I had a plug on a tractor years ago that the spark was more like a flash (only way to describe it). Mower would not start or pop. I replaced with a new plug, started right up. Again, I doubt this is it, but worth a try...

I have CC LTX-1045 with a similar problems as you. I removed the solenoid from the back (under the frame to the left of the battery) and cleaned all the contacts/wires. I noted that the large wires going to it were not that tight on it. That solved my issue.

I would confirm your battery is good. The PTO needs a full charge to have it hold correctly.
