    Rider Mower battery question

In the fall, after the last mow, clean the underside of the deck, sharpen & balance the blades, change the oil & filter, blow out the debris in between the fins of your engine, pour a little stabil in the gas & run it for a short bit, and put your battery on a 1 amp battery maintainer. In the...

    Rider Mower battery question

Get yourself a 1amp battery maintainer (smart charger) & leave it on all winter long. Also, run your mower out of gas before you store it.

    Blade-balance oddity

When I balance a motorcycle tire, once it is balanced it doesn't matter where the heavy part was. I can rotate the tire to any position and it doesn't move. Figured a blade should do the same........

To heel or not to heel..

Well thanks everyone for the replies. I guess as long as I'm happy with the resulting cut, that's all that matters. Think I'll keep er heeled at 1/4" difference.

To heel or not to heel..

I'm cutting 'cold' grasses, in Ohio. So far I like the look I'm getting, but am wondering if I'd get the same results cutting where it's suppose to be. ie. 1/4" higher.

To heel or not to heel..

It seems like I read somewhere, possibly on this forum, that the best cut resulted from a heeled deck. So several years back I lowered the rear 1/4 from the front. BTW, Gravely HD ZT 60 with I believe a 25.5hp Kohler. I mow often because I'm retired & I like mowing so the grass doesn't get too...

Mulching blades that can still actually lift grass?

I did several years ago. Just wasn't impressed with the cut. Went with some sort of high-lift from Oregon and was very pleased. So now I'm trying to get high-lift, plus mulch. Don't think there is such an animal.........

Mulching blades that can still actually lift grass?

I've got a funny feeling here that I'm looking for a unicorn. High-lift blade that mulches. I understand that in order to lift grass, you have to have some place for the air flow to go. Making 3 individual cutting chambers with no-where for the air to escape makes it rather tough to lift &...

Mulching blades that can still actually lift grass?

What I noticed before I went to the 'kit' was I would shoot leaves 12' - 15' out the side. Run over them again, 12' - 15' out the other side. Seemed like a never-ending battle. Went with a Gravely chute blocker. Didn't work either. So I ended up with the kit. As a side note I'm really impressed...

Mulching blades that can still actually lift grass?

Gravely 60" ZT HD, 2017. Every fall I install https://www.gravely.com/en-us/part/zero-turn-mulching-kit---60-in-decks-79105900 the mulching kit, mainly because without it, the leaves blow out the side chute w/o ever being cut up. So again this year I tackle the project. Sharpen & balance the...

Sounds like you didn't fully disengage the drive. Try jacking up the mower & see if you can rotate the wheels by hand after you feel you have disengaged them. Bet you can't.

    Making a checkerboard

Guys, as a homeowner, I mow 3 different patterns on my rectangular lawn, up & down, angle left to right, and angle right to left with a homemade stripping 'kit'. When to aerate...

Guys, I've got 2 types of aerators. One is the spikes which I used to pull behind me practically each time I mowed. Don't know if it helps, but the grass looked nice. Then I graduated to the plug type. I use this maybe once a year. So I've got several questions for you pros. Does my spike guy do...
