    33" rer - no engine

Got the belt on and it's officially a working mower now. I ordered the muffler last week and it came in today so I'll pick that up and replaced that later this week....it's REALLY loud with just the pipe! And I'll probably wait on the seat for now, it's not too bad. I'll replace it eventually...

    33" rer - no engine

Haha no wheelies!...yet. Picking up the last functional piece tomorrow. A new belt. Will be a totally functional machine then. And yes any neighbor who wants their lawn mowed I'll do it for free with a big grin. Couldn't stop laughing when I was driving it around once the disc was adjusted. I...

    33" rer - no engine

Update. And a good one. Bought a new drive disc (the one with the rubber wheel) and put that in this morning. Nothing new so pulled the engine, backed off the two adjustment screws on the disc attached to the shaft and lowered it about 1/8"-3/16". Put it all back together and it drives perfect...

    33" rer - no engine

So here we are as of today. With the rear axle and everything else put back together. I looked up underneath at the drive disc and it's just barely not making contact. But I tested the axle by holding the disc to the plate with it in gear and the mower does drive so that's a non-issue now. I...

    33" rer - no engine

Well upon further investigation today it appears that the drive disc issue is a non-issue. They make contact. BUT since it still wasn't driving I looked at other possibilities. It appeared that the axle was bad, when it was jacked up off the ground and manually rolling the wheels a grinding...

    33" rer - no engine

Sometimes I stumble on an offer I can't refuse. My brother-in-law had a 1990 33" rer with a 12hp Briggs for sale for the last couple months. Long story short, I picked it up today for $100. Took the engine and electrical off of it and threw it on mine. Had a new battery too. It runs good, could...

    33" rer - no engine

I'll admit the RERs aren't as cool as a LT16..,,or an 1855. Now THAT would be cool. But as I spent the last half hour wiping this one down and cleaning it up some more I realized I really like messing with these things. I may have a 28" I can pick up for $100 with a 12hp. Could swap over all I...

    33" rer - no engine

Here's some better pics. I just noticed...shouldn't there be a disc plate that the rubber wheel rests against in the back by the axle?

    33" rer - no engine

Just picked this up today for free. Except for missing the engine and a torn up seat it looks in pretty nice shape. Tires are good too. Don't know much about the RERs and I'm wondering what to look for in a replacement engine. Could be Briggs or Something else but particularly what shaft and...

    Ummm....another one.

So I left a few minutes before 5am and it only took an hour to get down there. It is a 1985 21401P with the original 4hp Briggs. We didn't test start it because it was so early and I didn't even care if it started or not but when I got it home it took half a dozen pulls or so and it started...

    Ummm....another one.

Found an early '80s 21401P that I'm making a 3-hour round trip tomorrow morning for. I think it's from the original owner, a retired gardener. He couldn't upload pics but he says it's in great shape, needs nothing. He also has 2 other snappers. I talked to him tonight and he sounds like a nice...

    Old push-reel mowers

We'll neither of these have any identifying info that I can see on them. The only writing is on the handle of the bigger one, the one with the red lower brackets. It just says NEW FAVORITE on the handle. The cutting width on that one measures 15.5 inches. The smaller one has nothing on it. Its...

    Old push-reel mowers

Ok so generally I'm a freak about snappers. We all know that. But recently I've been reminded of the neat old push-reel mower my grandparents had that was the first mower I ever used. I wish I still had it. So I've been looking for them lately and found a couple. The one leaning against the...

Anyone put Honda engines on their Snapper?

Here we are. Still dirty but maybe I'll have time this weekend to clean it.

Haven't had internet for awhile, added a few more snappers!

Yep the guys at the shop are pretty cool there. Since they know I'm a nut about the older snappers they'll even keep an eye out for "junk" I may want. My favorite mower I actually got there, the 1987 214X1PR-2 two-stroke Wisconsin Robin. Some guy just left it and bought something new. I cleaned...

    Snapper 21350PS

Got it cleaned up some. The deck had a lot of soot stuck to it and I managed to get most of it off but it could use more work. Haven't gotten around to replacing the disc yet. I want to soon though, if really like to use this one.

Anyone put Honda engines on their Snapper?

Two of mine have old GV150s on them. One I got on an original 1982 21350PC that was in REALLY bad shape so I took the engine off and put on a good deck. The other I got off an early 1970s deck that was also in terrible shape. Both GV150s bolted right up onto the other decks, one a 21351P and the...

    Snapper 21350PS

So my OCD enabled me to find another gem yesterday on cl AND be the first to call about it. I will get pics posted later this week but it's a 1982 21350PS...key-start. 1982, being the last of the non-OSHA engine-kill handle years, it has the vertical-recoil Briggs 3.5hp engine and red rubber...

    Snapper21500PC refurb

So I got this 1988 Snapper 21500PC a couple of months ago and spent those last two months tearing it apart, sandblasting it, replacing some parts and re-painting it. The po had painted over the original paint (YUK) but other than that it was in really nice shape so I decied to take on the...

    Wisconsin-Robin 2cycle Snapper (sale/trade)

I don't know how many of u guys are close to Sacramento but I have an older Snapper for sale. It's a 1987 214X1PR-2. It has the Wisconsin-Robin WT1-125 2cycle engine. It's in overall great shape, I cleaned the carb a couple months ago, it has a new NGK plug, new air filter, good blade, good bag...

    Snapper w/ Honda GV150

Hey guys, check this out. Got it for $20, mainly because it needs a new carb. This is a 1982 model 21350PC. This is the first 3.5hp commercial unit I have ever seen. It's in ok shape, a bit of surface rust but all in all it looks to be a pretty good machine. The carb is cracked, that's why it...

    Snapper Wisconsin-Robin 2cycle

Here's my latest aquisition: another Snapper WR 2cycle. I got it for free from my favorite local mower shop. Some guy dropped it off, just didn't want it anymore. The owner knows I'm always looking for these old things and he just gave it to me. He didn't know if it ran or not, and it was pretty...

    Snapper 214X5PR

And here is the other new addition. This one i got for $50 about a month ago. I bought it from the po's grandson, who thinks his grandfather bought it brand new in the mid-'80s. This W1-145 completes my Wisconsin-Robin trifecta...I now have the W1-185 5hp, the W1-145 4hp and the WT1-125 4hp...

    Snapper 21500PC

I finally picked up a full commercial 5hp Briggs 21500PC unit. Got it for $60 a few weeks ago. The only major thing it needed was a new rear axle but i just so happened to have a sort of POS Snapper that I parted out for this awesome machine. I also had to sand, prime and paint the engine...

    wisconsin robin 2cycle issue

HI all. Wondering if someone with 2cycle experience could help me out. My Snapper with the wisconsin-robin wti-125 2cycle won't start up unless the air filter and metal filter cover is off (so the intake is exposed). Even if the filter is off and just the cover is on it still won't start...

    Snapper with Tecumseh project

Well I can't seem to get my pictures uploaded but thought I'd give you the quick story of my latest Snappers that I pieced together. First I bought an old 5hp Tecumseh engine from a friend who works on mowers for $10 (then had the oil leak fixed for $100!). Its a TVS120 6313K (D) 4084B. I don't...
