Bypass the pump and go straight to the carb fuel inlet, fuel supply higher than the carb and let gravity do it's thing. See if it runs then.

Which all points to ****ty engineering design of the rocker arm/valve stem. Or they just went with an off the shelf valve. There is no offset of the arm that would cause any tangential motion to be transmitted to the stem or cap. My guess is somebody either specified valve stems that were too...

Full throttle...... They do make electronic soft start units that will ramp up the engagement voltage over a second or two. Also senses engine RPM to adjust the ramp rate. Ogura makes them and there's a company in NY state that makes them as well...

Grab the spark plug lead and try to start it....

That load compensation only occurs because the governor opens the throttle plate increasing intake airflow which lowers the intake pressure and the atmosphere pushes more fuel thru the orifice.

Welch plugs are there to hold something in like fuel in a carb passage but in most cases they are there to keep you from adjusting mixture screws or some other setting. Manufacturers don't trust the general public to make those adjustments.....and sometimes I don't blame them. This is a Welch...

You mean "premium" as in price? Well, if you're using less per gallon of gas, but you'd need 2x+ as much of the other stuff....is the price per gallon of gas the same or less. And generally price is not the driver. Do the rings stay free? Do you have to decarbon routinely? Do the plug(s)...

I can and I did. Multi cylinder vs single is not such a stretch. Both will be down on power and the single more so but it will run at 70. Saying it won't isn't true.

Use what you have where you are. 👍 Used to use my JD 5303 and a Bush Hog 7 foot trailing to do an 2300 foot grass runway. Worked as well as any other type of mower when set up properly.

I have a Tanaka Japanese made trimmer from 1999 for $180 or so. Came with 7 year residential warranty. Still the original head on 5.5 acres, including the neighbor's ****ty chain link fence. Maybe about the same number of tanks of fuel or a bit more depending on rainfall. Sadly, now out of business.

They sell thermally resetting fuses...mostly for automotive but works for anything else as well. The time between the event and reset allows everything to cool off.
