You changed everything but the starter, correct? If yes, try gently tapping the starter while holding the key in start position. If it goes the starter needs rebuild or replacement.

Does this happen only when hot or will it replicate when the motor is cold?

The black wire is one of three wires that was in the plug going to the rectifier/regulator. Should I hook the black wire to the ground on the new regulator? I don't get if it's a ground, why is there no continuity to the engine block?

@Auto Doc's I am sure this is the oem stator - FIL kept all receipts and wires have original paint. Checking black wire to block is open for resistance and no ac or dc volts found. Only reading I get off black is half the ac volts when touched to the other stator yellow wires vs the yellows...
