I had the same problem with my Gravely. Turns out I wasn't being 'manly' enough. Really rip on that thing!

Sounds like you didn't fully disengage the drive. Try jacking up the mower & see if you can rotate the wheels by hand after you feel you have disengaged them. Bet you can't.

I'm sure not one of them smarter guys here on the board but it sounds to me like everything points to your battery, although you don't mention how old it is. If it were me, I'd either put a battery booster on it, or jump it with another 12V battery and see if there's any difference. If it cranks...

Since you asked, and I'm certainly no authority, I'd reuse it. Looks like a perfect fit and there's got to be a reason why it's an OEM part.

That's such a terrible rip-off! The short video they show is of the inventor of AA showing his 5005, complete with wearing the same clothes. Please don't support this type of rip-off, no mater what product it is.

When you're retired, lifting your zero turn, removing the blades, sharpening them & balancing, cleaning the deck, greasing up a few zerks, replacing everything, along with a couple of beers is a good 2 hour job. And it's a good job at that! ;)

For a home-owner, no sharpener is going to pay for itself, especially a $200 sharpener. But I just like to do things correctly. But I cheat in this case. Free-hand is good enough.......;)

Yepper. This is a 60" Exmark. Apparently the center & r. side blade turn in one direction & the left turns in the opposite direction. I'm wondering if this might be the Tucker of the mower industry. Great idea but just didn't pan out?

I too usually cut at 4". Having that belt low sure gives a nice stripe. Only thing is, when you go in reverse, you'll 'feel' it bend the other way......... Doesn't seem to weaken it....

I set my deck to it's highest level & installed the belt so that it was just slightly above the floor. I'm talking 1/2". That was 4 years ago. Still going strong & great stripes.

You're using the blades that came with the mulching kit? I have that kit that came for my 60" and it works great...
