Have a 2004 618 grasshopper pto will not engage with actuator in the down position and spacers for height adjustment locked have to raise height a llttle to engage a switch that depress on cylinder is the normal closed and open switch bad changed the clutch relay before i encountered this...

Pulled regulator plug off started engine ran fast rpm ac voltage was 20 volts still just 12 volts at battery have not tested regulator sounds like the stator is the problem if just getting 20 volts ac any ideas thanks dave

2004 grasshopper 618 charging problem blown 30amp fuse regulater fuse shorted out trid replacing fuse would like to teat regulator out but cannot locate it start the engine run fast idle still 12 volts not sure if its the regulator or alternator need to test both any help please dave
